Let’s solve the equation fory: Given that: ax + by =c Deviding both the sides by constant 'b', we get: y = (c/b) - (a/b)x, To find y intercept put x = 0, we get: y = (c/b) - (a/b)*0 = c/b Now, comparing -4x + 6y = 12 with general equation ax + by = c, we get: a = -4, b = 6 & c = -12 Therefore: y = -12/6 = -2 Plot is attached. read less

y = mx + c where, c is the y intercept. we have -4x +6y = -12 6y = 4x - 12 y = (4x/6) - 12/6 y = (4x/6) - 2. Therefore y intercept = -2.

Equation of line in intercept form is (x/a)+(y/b)=1; Where, a is x intercept and b is y intercept. Divide equation by ( -12) so that RHS =1. (X/3)+(Y/-2)=1. Y intercept is -2
