Interstate disparities in layman’s terms are the proportion of poor people of one particular geographical boundary or State is not the same in other States as well. In other words, the amount of poor people is not the same as other states. In India, it is recorded that Orissa and Bihar are the two states which are the poorest with poverty ratio of 47 and 43%. There is however a decline in the rate of poverty in the states of Kerala, Jammu and Kashmir, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, West Bengal, Punjab and Haryana. Hope this helps read less
