Biotic resources can be various and I would explain some of it. It could be like food and habitat. In the ecosystems, some organisms are producers (mainly are plants) while some others are consumers. In this case, those photosynthetical plants are the resources for other organisms in the higher trophic level. Some organisms also use another organisms as the habitat to live in and to avoid predator or other threats. Such as birds that make their nests on the tree where the tree become its resources. For the abiotic resources, it can be more varied, such as sun light and soil nutrients, We can clearly observe how plants are competing to get sunlight in the tropical forest. Some plants have strategy to get more sunlight, such as liana, a plants that climb up the host tree to reach the canopy and get more sunlight. The same thing also happens on the soil nutrients. read less
