Tan2A = tan ((A+B) + (A - B)) = tan (A + B) + tan ( A - B) / 1 - tan (A + B) . tan( A - B) = (p + q) / (1 +pq)

To prove tan2A= (p+q)/ (1-pq) Let A+B = X and A-B = Y. Therefore X+Y=2A Given tanX = p and tanY= q. To find: tan2A = tan(X+Y) = (tanX+tanY)/ (1-tanXtany) = (p+q)/(1-pq) Hence proved.
