Your question is actually incorrect. If the temperature of the air and water are the same, and are cooler than your skin, the water will feel colder than the air. Cold water has a higher density than warm water. Water gets colder with depth because cold, salty ocean water sinks to the bottom of the ocean basins below the less dense warmer water near the surface. The sinking and transport of cold, salty water at depth combined with the wind-driven flow of warm water at the surface creates a complex pattern of ocean circulation called the 'global conveyor belt.' I guess this will be useful for your daughter.If still she doesn't understand then contact me for further queries. Thank You read less

Prove that (sinA-cosA+1)/(sinA+cos-1)=1/(secA-tanA)
LHS = (sinA-cosA+1)/(sinA+cos-1) = (1 + sinA) (1 - sinA)/cos A(1 - sinA) = 1 - sin2A/cos A(1 - sinA) = cos2A/cos A(1 - sinA) = cosA/(1 - sinA) = 1/ (1/cosA - sinA/cosA) = 1/(secA - tanA) = RHS Hence Proved
