Check whether he knows the 5 strokes: 1st “---“sleeping line, 2nd “/ “slanting line, 3rd “I” standing line 4th “C “half a circle and 5th is the other half of the circle. Help him to write them and you should be confident that he is perfect with the strokes. Practice him alphabets with the help of strokes, he should say loudly and practice them initially. Now, try the following exercises.....Initially start with the practice of 5 alphabets for the day/ week. 1. Use flash cards, ask the child to come forward and ask others to say what alphabet that flash card contains....then tell the same student who has the flash card in the hand to write that alphabet on the board. This would help him to improve his interest first. 2. Clay moulding- give them the dictation of first 5 alphabets with different colours to mould each letter. This would motivate him to concentrate. 3. Get tiny mud pots give them to write first 5 alphabets with the paint and brush, and then give another pot to write for next 5 alphabets, if he is perfect with the first 5 alphabets. This would help him to recall the alphabet. Please try the above exercises for that student; I will definitely help you for any further advice, if needed. Thank you. read less

Use of flash cards help you out. make use of some flashy or colorful games thats similar to matching a letter from a word with a live example. But its too early for a Kg kid.. it needs time to identify alphabet by itself :)
