Why Zn is soft whereas Cr is hard?

JU-IITKGP & 10+ years experienced for boards, JEE,NEET,OLYMPIAD & 5-12

Zn is having fulfilled (d10) orbit which makes it less reactive and can not form metallic bonds but Cr is having unfilled outer orbit (d5) which makes it reactive and can form metallic bonds so Cr is harder whereas Zn is soft.
