Workers are really exploited in unorganised sector in India. The following examples support the statement (i) Low salary An average nine out of ten workers of unorganised sector received wages below the national minimum wage during 2004-05. (ii) Long working hours In most construction sites, labourers have to work for a time spread over 9-10 hours in a day. (iii) Temporary jobs On an average, a farm labourer finds employment for less than 200 days in a year. (iv) No facilities and benefits Many construction companies do not provide proper management for their security and facilities at worksite. read less
