Richard was the only child of his parents. He had no company at home to play with. So, he started collecting things in his spare time. He would collect coins, fossils, rocks and butterflies as a hobby and thus he became a collector at an early age

Richard was the only child to his parents and hence he did not have any siblings to play with him, his mom and dad were busy so they could not play with Richard.
