The cylinderical part is 240 cm high and the conical part in 36 cm high. Find the weight of the pillar if one cu. cm of iron weighs 7.8 grams.

Volume of a iron pillar=volume of a cone+ volume of a cylinder =(1/3×π×r×r×h1)+(π×r×r×h2) Given r=8, h1=36, h2=240 =π×r×r(h1/3+h2) =π×r×r(36/3+240) =π×r×r(12+240) =\7 =22×64×36=50688cm^3 Now weight of iron pillar is 50688×7.8=395366.4grams
