I had the privilege of having her as my Social Science teacher in Delhi Public School (Bangalore). She is the most patient, kind, and considerate teacher I have ever come across as a student during my school years. She embodies everything a good teacher should, and more. She was always extremely prepared and well versed in the material and left no stone unturned in helping students understand the subject. She taught me History, Political Science and Economics within Social Science, and was excellent at each of them. I personally wasn’t much interested in Social Science in the past, but after having her as my teacher, I had a completely different perspective towards the subject and started enjoying it. This interest was mainly driven by her thoughtful communication, interesting examples and anecdotes, and her genuine passion for the subject. She also went out of her way to help me prepare for the final CBSE board exam with past exams and notes to make me feel confident enough to take the exam without much stress. I’ll always be thankful for that empathetic gesture. As a recent college graduate with the degree in Economics, I can confidently say that my journey has been meaningful because of the interest that was instilled by her. That to me, is the mark of a great teacher. I believe impacting someone’s life goes beyond showing up to class and reading out from a book - it requires dedicated teachers like Rashmi ma’am who want to make a difference and help a student succeed.
