Kareemulla Dudekula

I am currently a 4th year doctoral candiate (PhD) in the department of Chemical Engineering at IIT Madras. I have vast academic & industrial research experience spanning over nearly 18 years following my Master's degree at IIT Madras in 2007. I also earned an advnaced degree, Professional Doctorate in Engineering (PDEng) in Process & Equipment Design, from Delft University of Technology (TU Delft), The Netherlands in 2013. It is my unwavering passion to teach that compelled me to enroll for PhD at IIT Madras despite a lucrative career in applied research.

These basic and advanced trainings coupled with several years of academic and industrial research experience at various levels in India and overseas, enabled me to amass in-depth theoretical and practical understanding of various Chemical (Process) Engineering fundamentals and the application of these concepts in areas ranging from chemicals production and energy conversion to pressing environmental issues such as desalination and carbon capture.

I tutored and supervised undergrad students in various capacities over the past few years at these prestigious institutes. I thoroughly enjoy teaching and interacting with students. I reckon that my industrial experience coupled with the knowledge of latest research trends in process/chemical engineering enable me to impart theoretical concepts in practical perspective, thus, significantly enhancing the learning quotient of the students. Moreover, I always excert great emphasis on the background and level of previous training while evaluating student's performance and accordingly tune my teaching strategies.
