Indumathi R. - Carnatic vocal trainer with 15 years of experience. Personalised training for grade exams.

I teach Vocal Music and have 15 years of teaching experience. I am passionate about helping students develop their singing abilities, improve their vocal techniques, and build confidence in their musical expression. My teaching focuses on voice culture, pitch accuracy, rhythm, and the fundamentals of vocal music. I believe that every student has unique musical abilities, and with the right guidance, regular practice, and encouragement, they can strengthen their skills and discover their individual potential.

I hold a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Music and have also completed the Carnatic Music Teacher Training Certificate from Shankar Mahadevan Academy in 2026. My academic background and professional training have helped me strengthen my musical knowledge and develop effective teaching methods. I aim to combine a strong understanding of music with practical instruction so that students can build a solid foundation and progress confidently in their musical journey.

Throughout my 15 years of teaching, I have worked with students of different age groups and skill levels. I previously worked as a music teacher in a CBSE school, where I gained valuable experience guiding students in vocal music and supporting their musical development. This experience helped me understand the importance of adapting lessons to suit individual abilities and encouraging students to practise consistently. I focus on nurturing musical discipline while making classes enjoyable and rewarding.

My teaching approach emphasises strengthening musical fundamentals, improving vocal control, developing pitch and rhythm, and expressing music with confidence. I also prepare students for graded music examinations and diploma courses in music, helping them work towards their academic and musical goals. In addition, I guide students in developing their performance skills for cultural events, stage performances, and music competitions. I encourage regular practice, provide individual guidance, and help students identify areas where they can improve.

I conduct vocal music classes both online and offline, including sessions at my residence. My aim is to create a supportive environment where students can explore their musical interests, ask questions, and progress at a comfortable pace. I believe that learning vocal music requires patience, dedication, and consistent practice, and I strive to motivate students throughout this process. Whether they wish to strengthen their musical foundations, prepare for examinations, or gain confidence as performers, I am committed to helping them develop their abilities and enjoy the process of learning music.
