Indu M.

My name is Professor Indumathy Vijayabaskar, and I am a Mathematics teacher with extensive experience teaching students at different levels. I hold an M.Sc., M.Phil., and PhD in Mathematics, and I have taught in schools, colleges, and through personalised tutoring. My teaching approach is quite different from rote learning. I believe that a student should not simply learn a formula and use it mechanically. I want the student to understand the concept, think about the problem, and arrive at the answer independently. For example, if a student is solving a Mathematics problem and gets stuck, I don't immediately give them the solution. Instead, I ask questions and give small hints that guide them in the right direction. I may ask, "What information do we already have?" or "Which concept can we use here?" or "What happens if we look at the problem in a different way?" Step by step, the student discovers the solution themselves. This approach helps students develop logical thinking, problem-solving skills, and most importantly, confidence. My role is not just to teach Mathematics; it is to help students learn how to think mathematically. I adapt my lessons according to each student's level, pace, and individual difficulties. Whether you want to strengthen your fundamentals, prepare for examinations, or become more confident in solving challenging problems, I can support you. If you are looking for a patient and experienced Mathematics tutor who will encourage you to think rather than simply memorise, I would be happy to meet you in a trial lesson. Let's learn Mathematics by understanding, thinking, and discovering.
