Yes, Tamil has evolved over 2,000+ years through three main stages:
1. Old Tamil (500 BCE – 700 CE) – Used in Sangam literature, had a more complex grammar.
2. Middle Tamil (8th – 13th century CE) – Simplified grammar, more Sanskrit influence.
