I primarily teach vocal music, focusing on light classical, semi-classical, and devotional genres such as bhajans. Music has always been a core part of my identity, and I am passionate about helping students connect with it in a meaningful and joyful way. My teaching journey spans about a year, though I’ve been offering lessons on and off during this period. My goal is to nurture each student’s unique voice while building a strong musical foundation.

My formal training in Carnatic classical music began under the tutelage of Mrs. Bhavani Natesan, the mother of the renowned Chinmaya Sisters. I spent 7 years learning the intricacies of classical vocal performance, which gave me a solid grounding in raga structure, tala, and expressive singing. This training has been instrumental in shaping my teaching approach, which emphasizes both technical skill and emotional connection to the music.

In addition to training, I’ve had the opportunity to perform in several concerts across Chennai, which not only built my confidence as a performer but also deepened my understanding of stage presence and musical presentation. I’ve also participated in a few music-based reality shows, which exposed me to different styles and taught me how to adapt to various performance settings.

One of my most memorable achievements was being selected among the top 20 contestants in Tamil Nadu for the Airtel Super Singer show in 2008. Being recognized on such a prestigious platform helped affirm my dedication to music and inspired me to share what I’ve learned with aspiring vocalists.

I conduct online sessions and follow a structured, practical-based teaching style. My classes begin with foundational exercises and gradually transition to more complex compositions depending on the student’s level. I emphasize voice modulation, clarity, and understanding the emotional depth of each piece, especially in devotional and semi-classical genres.

While I haven’t personally pursued a diploma or certification course in music, I am fully capable of guiding students who are looking to prepare for music exams or certifications. More importantly, I focus on building each student’s confidence and connection to music, ensuring that they grow both technically and emotionally through each class.
