I have been fortunate enough to gather fifteen years of experience in teaching English. With an MA in English and a deep passion for language, I have always found joy in imparting knowledge to others. My association with Unacademy and my Cambridge certification from IDP has enriched my education journey.
One of my main areas of expertise is teaching Spoken English and IELTS. Through online platforms, I have had the opportunity to connect with students from various backgrounds and help them enhance their language skills. My teaching sessions typically last for an hour, during which I focus on creating a well-structured lesson plan that caters to the specific needs of my students.
To ensure effective learning, I employ various teaching tools and techniques. A whiteboard is invaluable in my virtual classroom, enabling me to visually explain concepts and engage students in interactive activities. Practice makes perfect, so I incorporate ample practice questions into my lessons. These exercises not only reinforce understanding but also build confidence in my students.
When designing my lesson plans, I strive for a balanced approach covering all language learning aspects. I introduce new vocabulary and grammar rules, providing clear explanations and examples. This sets the foundation for further comprehension. Next, I encourage students to engage in conversations where they can actively apply what they have learned. This conversational practice plays a crucial role in developing fluency and improving pronunciation.
Additionally, I allocate time for listening exercises, as this skill is vital for effective communication. By utilising audio recordings, videos, and interactive listening activities, I expose my students to various accents and speaking styles, preparing them for real-world interactions. I strive to foster a sense of belonging among my students, encouraging them to share their thoughts and ask questions without hesitation.
