a.- Basic knowledge of the fretboard
Once you understand the logic behind the musical alphabet and how the notes are laid out on the guitar fretboard, learning all the notes becomes easier and easier. A F-sharp note is always going to be 2 frets higher than an E note, so if you know where all the F-sharp notes are, you then automatically know where all the E notes are. These kind of connections start to add up fast, and I think knowing the notes of the fretboard is essential to being a good guitarist.
