Hi Thomas, In calligraphy,you make small movements with your fingers. But it's just not your fingers, it's also your brain that tells you where to take your fingers to do beautiful calligraphy. This improves the co-ordination between your mind and your hands/ fingers. This develops your fine motor skills and concentration. If you ask me, the biggest benefit of calligraphy is expressing yourself with it. I always wanted to be an artist but painting landscapes scared me. I found calligraphy an approachable form of art.
