Dear Manjunath, you have not mentioned anything about your qualification or the stage of CA course for which your query is. Informing total syllabus will take 2 to 3 pages. I will rather, inform you the list of subjects briefly. (a) If you want to join in CA course from +2 level, you have to attend eligibility test which is called CPT (Commons Proficiency Test). Many students and parents are in a wrong notion that this is a competitive examination. This is an eligibility test and not part of CA course. Every student who gets 50% in aggregate with minimum of 30% in each subject can join in I(IPC)C which is first stage of CA course. After completing I(IPC)C, you have to undergo practical training for 3 years. After completing 2 1/2 years of practical training you can attend Final examinations which is last stage of CA course. . The subjects in each stage are as follows, as per existing pattern: Stage: 1 > CPT (Common Proficiency Test) No. of Papers: 2 No. of Subjects: 4 Paper Subject Marks No. 1 Fundamentals of Accounting 60 Mercantile Laws 40 2 General Economics 50 Quantitative Aptitude 50 T o t a l 200 Note that this is NOT a Competitive Examination. This is an eligibility test for entry into CA course. Stage: 2 > I(IPC)C: Intermediate (Integrated Professional Competence) Course: Group: 1 Paper No. Subject Marks 1 Accounting 100 2 Business Laws, Ethics & Communication 100 3 Cost Accounting & Financial Management 100 4 Taxation 100 Group: 2 Paper No. Subject Marks 5 Advanced Accounting 100 6 Auditing and Assurance 100 7 Information Technology & Strategic Management 100 Stage: 3 > ‘Practical Training’ and CA-Final examination. Group: 1 Paper No. Subject Marks 1 Financial Reporting 100 2 Strategic Financial Management 100 3 Advanced Auditing and Prof. Ethics 100 4 Corporate and Allied Laws 100 Group: 2 Paper No. Subject Marks 5 Advanced Management Accounting 100 6 Information systems control and Audit 00 7 Direct Tax Laws 100 8 Indirect Tax Laws 100 (b) If you are a graduate with the requisite percentage of marks, the procedure is different. If can establish your identity through OUR URBAN PRO, I will provide you entire procedure, and clarify any doubt, (C) ICAI has proposed to change the pattern shortly which may come into effect from 2017.
