Hi Sunia, Study material and Practice material of ICAI are definitely best books for CPT preparation. But, these can be treated as best books only after you get GOOD GRIP on the concepts. Once you get grip on the concepts, you can answer any type of questions. In order to get grip and command on the concepts, I recommend the following books. 1. Fundamentals of Accounting: Mc Graw Hill by Tulsian & Tulsian 2. Mercantile Laws: S. Chand by Tulsian 3. General Economics: Mc Graw Hill by Deepahsree 4. Quantitative Aptitude, S.Chand, by Arora & Arora After getting good knowledge in concepts and fundamentals practice MCQs in the above books. Next step is practicing MCQs in ICAI's Study material. Then you practice both volumes of practice manual of ICAI - Total 30 papers. IF YOU TARGET FOR A NATIONAL RANK, practice the following books also: 1. Fundamentals of Accounting by (i) Gupta & Agarwal (S.Chand) and (ii) by K.K.Agarwal (Bharat's) 2. Mercantile Law by V.K. Jain (Taxman's) 3. General Economics by Salwan, Pranjal & Deshpande (Taxman) 4. Quantitative Aptitude by Trivedi & Trivedi (Mc Graw Hill) REMEMBER: The method in which you practice is very important. You have not stated when you want to appear for CPT and to which place you belong. If you are for June 2016 CPT, get in touch with me in the last week of April. I will try to send mock test papers (my own compilation) and guide how to practice. Please do this after getting thorough in the concepts. read less
