Why is the main function called a user defined function in C?

Though the name of the function 'main' is given by the language, the body of the function ie what the function should do is written by the user, hence it is a user defined function

No its not allowed, but some compilers support. Instead check out OOP C++, which would encapsulation, that is better than function in function.
