Other topics include tensigrity, Reinforced soil techniques, sustainable housing , seismic analysis, Papercrete , concrete mix designs with addition of rice husks/jute etc. The one which interested you the most during your first year coursework if you are lucky enough to choose your supervisor and the project. Read papers, not necessarily the entire paper only the title and abstract of famous geotechnical journals to get some idea about the kind of work going on. read less
