it is not necessary to learn C and C++, but if you want to make your are career in computer then learn C & C++ because these are basic computer language.

C / C++ is not a necessity before joining an engineering college but it is a big + point if you learn the languages. You will have C language in your first semester and C++ in your second. It is like that in most of the engineering colleges. But when you start the language, I advise you to learn and understand it by heart. If you are aiming to go into the development/Coding field, these 2 languages are best to start with. Only way to learn a language is to implement what you have learnt. This trend is something like, starting IIT foundation in class 6th or class 8th. if you learn things to early you might be a master of it in-front of your classmates, but you miss the joyfull time in your early ages. so have fun do things as its required. when we cook an eat today it will be tasty, but if you eat the same food next week, you won't enjoy it. what i mean to say is, go with your course flow not in urgency to learn before it commences. suggest you to spend your extra time in learning or improving your skill set which won't be part of academics, like sports, puzzles , rubiks cubes etc read less
