if your good at c, python is easy way go learning and practicing self. will helpful for automating test cases . in current time, its a added advantage to have python. most of MNC prefer you over other candidates if you this extra skill set.

In One word, NO. You can start learning directly from Python. You only need to know basics of computer programming languages. It is widely used programming language now and you will have a very good career path.
