Data science produces broader insights that concentrate on which questions should be asked, while big data analytics emphasizes discovering answers to questions being asked. More importantly, data science is more concerned about asking questions than finding specific answers.

Python is not mandatory for learning spark. But if you have some core Java skills, that will be the add on to learn spark.

How much beneficial it would be for me to get a job as certified business analyst if I pursue a course in BIG DATA AND R as I am a commerce graduate and having experience in banking.
It certainly give you benefit. But path is long & not so easy. It dons't mean too long or tough. Take around 6 months of exhaustive learning. You also need to learn some related applications/system for execution.

If you think you are strong in finance and costing, I would suggest you a SAP FICO course which is definitely always in demand. if you have an experience as a end user on SAP PLM / Documentation etc, even a course on SAP PLM DMS should be good.
