Hi Jana, the prospects for Big Data is very good considering the growth of SMAC is disproportionate as compared to traditional IT. If you have 2 years of experience, you can get a much better salary package compared to anyone having similar experience in traditional IT.

I have done my PGDITM(POST GRADUATION DIPLOMA IN Information Technology MANAGEMENT) with FINANCIAL SYSTEMS specialization in 2014. I didn't get a job until now. The reasons that I am getting rejected for is that my graduation is B.TECH and my PG is also in IT. This was the reason given by the companies after asking for a feedback. You should focus on the analytics part of Data Science, and not on big data. Analytics require knowledge of business along with Data Science skills.
