After working for almost 35 years in the largest engineering and manufacturing company engaged in design, engineering, manufacturing, construction, testing, commissioning & servicing of power plant equipment (BHEL) I joined as Director of RKDF Institute of Institute of Science& Technology Bhopal in Feb 2010. It was my passion for teaching that although I was Director of the Institute but I ensured that at least 1 subject was taught by me. I utilized my practical experience which I acquired during my tenure at BHEL along with solid theoretical knowledge to explain subjects like High Voltage Engineering, Power Generation, Switchgear & Protection, Electrical Machines, Power System, EHV Transmission, Energy conservation & Management, Renewable Energy, Utilization of Electrical power etc. For teaching the subject content I refer web & video notes available as open course ware on websites of NPTEL, VTU e-learning, MIT open course ware, U.C. Berkeley university, Stanford university, Howard university, U Tube & IGNOU. Teaching allowed me to promote the discipline to which I have devoted a significant portion of my life and to share the knowledge & experience which I gained at BHEL. The methodology which I normally follow is starting with basics and bringing the students to that level so that the students they can participate actively in discussions. To assess students’ learning, I would conduct regular quizzes and assign several group projects so that they work together and understand importance team work and cooperation. As a Professor I know what difficulties the students might face during their learning. For explaining contents, I make effective utilization of black boards, PPT presentation., E-learning course materials along with latest information. With my passion for teaching, I am confident that I am a good teacher.
