Subhayan Gupta - 20+ Years Experienced English Teacher

I am an experienced teacher with around 25 years of teaching experience, specialising in English for students from Classes 4 to 12 and Social Science for students from Classes 4 to 8. Throughout my teaching career, I have worked with students from different academic backgrounds and learning levels, helping them strengthen their subject knowledge and improve their academic performance. I believe that effective teaching involves more than completing the syllabus. It requires helping students understand concepts clearly, develop independent thinking, and gain the confidence to apply what they learn.

I have completed my Master of Arts (M.A.), which has contributed to my academic understanding and teaching expertise. Over the years, I have gained extensive experience teaching English in government-aided schools as well as through private tuition. These experiences have helped me understand the academic expectations of students at different stages and the challenges they commonly face. I use this knowledge to plan my lessons carefully and provide guidance that supports students in achieving their academic goals.

For students from Classes 4 to 8, I teach English and Social Science, focusing on building a strong foundation in both subjects. In English, I help students improve their grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing skills, and overall language proficiency. In Social Science, I focus on explaining concepts clearly and helping students understand important topics, events, and ideas rather than relying entirely on memorisation. For students from Classes 9 to 12, I specialise in English, covering grammar, literature, comprehension, and different forms of writing according to their academic requirements.

My teaching methodology is structured, student-friendly, and focused on conceptual clarity. I prepare lesson plans according to the class level, syllabus, and learning objectives. I explain topics step by step, using practical examples and familiar situations to make them easier to understand. I encourage students to participate actively, ask questions, and clarify their doubts during lessons. I also provide individual attention wherever necessary so that students can work on their specific areas of difficulty and progress at a comfortable pace.

I conduct my classes online and use PowerPoint presentations and a digital whiteboard to make lessons organised, interactive, and easy to follow. PowerPoint presentations help me explain important concepts and highlight key points, while the whiteboard allows me to demonstrate grammar rules, analyse literary passages, explain writing formats, and organise information clearly. I combine these tools with examples and guided practice to help students understand the subject thoroughly. My aim is to make online teaching effective while keeping students engaged throughout the session.

With more than two decades of teaching experience, I understand the importance of consistent practice and proper examination preparation. I help students improve their writing structure, comprehension, grammar accuracy, and ability to express ideas clearly. I also guide them in understanding question patterns, organising answers effectively, and managing their preparation for school examinations and board-level assessments. Through regular practice, revision, and feedback, I aim to help students identify their weaknesses, strengthen their skills, and approach examinations with greater confidence.

I believe that every student has the potential to improve when provided with the right guidance, encouragement, and learning environment. My approach combines experience, patience, structured planning, and individual attention to support students in their academic journey. I strive to make English more accessible and interesting while helping younger students develop a strong foundation in Social Science. Whether students need support with everyday classroom learning, improvement in language skills, or preparation for important examinations, I aim to help them become confident, capable, and independent learners who can achieve their academic objectives.
