Special Education:
Special educator work with students who have a wide range of learning, mental, emotional, and physical disabilities. They adapt general education lessons and teach various skill areas such as reading, writing, and math, to students with mild and moderate disabilities.
â?¢ Assess studentâ??s skills to determine their needs and to develop teaching plans.
â?¢ Adapt lessons to meet the needs of students.
â?¢ Develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for each student.
â?¢ Plan, organize, and assign activities that are specific to each studentâ??s abilities.
Counseling:
Develop therapeutic and treatment plans based on clients' interests, abilities, and needs. Counsel clients on mental health or personal achievement.
Counsel individuals, groups, or families to help them understand problems, deal with crisis situations, define goals, and develop realistic action plans
