Since he is in standard 1, so he must be 5-6 years old. Kids ' minds are too active at this age, so they don't concentrate on a particular thing. Don't expect that they will sit for an hour and study. Just start with a 10-15 mins playful assignment, and gradually you can increase the time. Even he can join his mom in the kitchen too, and they're also he can do some activities and improve his concentration. For example, he can peel off the peas and count those peas, or learn the spellings of spices used in cooking, etc. Or he might sometimes sit with you with your system and learn some features of that. This is my personal experience that I am sharing. Now interesting learning video and activities are available on the internet, but make sure he shouldn't be habitual because it affects the eyes.
