If you know the difference between Telugu and Kannada languages, it is quite easy to understand the difference between Hindi and Bengali. As I am a native Telugu speaker, I explain it using this.
Same as Kannada, Bengali also has many Sanskrit words. whereas Telugu and Hindi have fewer Sanskrit words in it.
scripts of Bengali is also different.
