When you state that you are familiar with JavaScript (JS) and jQuery, the understanding is that you know how to use or work with these two, but do not possess the expertise of being able to design and develop client-side complete interactive applications.
You should know how to develop custom JavaScript Templates, work with event-based programming, understand concepts like event-binding, two-way data-binding, be conversant with TypeScript and EcmaScript (ES6), understand and work with JavaScript components and be extremely well-versed with implementing OOPs concepts, etc., --- all of these concepts without the dependency of the jQuery library - just pure JavaScript (popularly known as Vanilla JavaScript).
This would help you learn and understand the nuances of AngularJS or ReactJS or any of the other JS-based client-side technology stacks.
Hope this helps.

Ideally, you should have very good knowledge of the following topics:
HTML5
CSS3
JavaScript (JS)
Basic Understanding of the Browser DOM (Document Object Model)
TypeScript
ECMAScript (ES6)
You can learn all of the above online from www.w3schools.com and www.tutorialspoint.com
These would help you greatly in understanding advanced concepts of AngularJS or ReactJS.
Learning NODE JS would greatly help you understand how to apply JavaScript on the server side or how Angular/React applications interact.
Hope this helps.
