Hi, I don't think there should be any cons to learning any language. being a polygon is always beneficial as it expands your knowledge of other cultures, the way they look at or approach things, so there are no "cons" unless you have some defined thoughts about learning the specific language for a specific reason.

DELE and SIELE are the two main certificates for the language. but as it's very difficult to pass those exams at the first attempt, you can take up exams at those institutes in your city where Dele/siele exams will be conducted. To certain extent even the certificates from those institutes are valuable and easier to pass as well
