Class 1: Foundational Literacy (Nali-Kali) Alphabet Recognition (Varnamale): Learning vowels (Swara), consonants (Vyanjana), and yogavahakas (Am, Aha). Basic Vocabulary: 2-letter and 3-letter simple words (Ondu, EraDu, family terms, animals, colors). Phonics & Sight Words: Connecting letters with picture identification and phonetics. Listening & Speaking: Short nursery rhymes (Padyagalu) and interactive storytelling. Class 2: Word Building & Basic Reading Matras (Kagunitha): Combining consonants with vowel signs to form compound syllables (e.g., Ka, Kaa, Ki, Kee). Sentence Formation: Reading simple 3 to 4 word sentences. Basic Grammar Concepts: Singular/Plural (Eka Vachana / Bahu Vachana) and gender (Linga) basics. Writing Skills: Handwriting practice, basic daily-use words, and numbers in Kannada numerals (1 to 20). Class 3: Reading Comprehension & Writing Conjunct Letters (Othakshara): Introduction to double consonants and blended sounds. Prose & Poetry: Short stories with moral lessons, descriptive poems, and reading aloud with proper pronunciation. Vocabulary Expansion: Synonyms (Samaanarthaka Padagalu), opposite words (Viruddhar thaka Padagalu), and word-meanings. Basic Comprehension: Answering simple textual questions in 1-2 sentences. Class 4: Structured Grammar & Expressive Reading Literary Reading: Story-based prose, historical snippets, and nature-themed poems.
