I would like to share my recent experience with an individual named Deepak, who claimed to be a spoken English tutor. According to his UrbanPro profile, he mentioned that he was a B. Tech student from Haldia Institute of Technology, had 7 years of teaching experience, and had lived in the USA. After a demo class, he personally shared his mobile number and asked me to send ₹2,000 in advance to his personal GPay/PhonePe number for one month of spoken English classes (1 hour daily), including court conversation practice. He repeatedly told me that many students were waiting to book his classes and emotionally pressured me to make the payment immediately to reserve my slot. Initially, I was doubtful, but after his repeated assurances and promise that he would even refund the money if I was not satisfied after a few days, I trusted him. Accordingly, ₹2,200 was transferred on my behalf. However, after receiving the payment, he stopped responding to my calls and messages and appears to have blocked my number. I have the payment receipt as well as the complete chat conversation documenting the entire interaction. I am sharing this experience so that other students exercise caution, verify tutors carefully, and avoid making advance payments to personal accounts without adequate safeguards. "
