Mitul Dutta

Born in Kolkata, a major voice in contemporary Bengali literature and music since ’90s. Long Vocal training since childhood, under eminent and notable mentors of Hindustani classical music, like ‘Suprakash Chaki’, ‘Pt Kumudranjan Banerjee’, ‘Pt Kumar Roy’ and many others as noted Bengali song composer 'Anal Chatterjee’ and Folk singer ‘Amar Pal’.
With above, started composing songs with outings of a number of Music albums from both India and Bangladesh over last one and half decades. Worked as a Music Director and Singer for various Telefilms in ‘ZEE-TV’, ‘KOLKATA TV’ & ‘TARA-MUSIC’, performed at ALL INDIA RADIO, Kolkata and various musical shows in India and Bangladesh. Was nominated for AKASH-BANGLA ‘TARAKA SAMMAN’ and ‘SONAR MEYE’.


Music Teaching experience :
1. Teaching at Sangit Prabha Music College – from January 1996 (continuing)
2. Music coordinator at Sopan School – From March 2015 to July 2015

Engaged in solo Music recital since last 16 years both in Kolkata & Bangladesh.


Acting & Stage show :
Since 2012, producing at regular intervals, a unique stage show, in an innovative Art form named as Dramuzik, being a synthesis of drama, poetry & Music. The show, ‘KUHAKINI KATHA’ [Talks of an Enchantress] is written & enacted by me as a solo performance, with vocals also rendered by me. It has got many applauds & recognition from notable intellects of Bengal and other parts of India.
Acted in a Tele-film & a Short-film.

‘Travelling Grant’ by Sahitya Academy in 2005.

‘Sanskriti Awards’ in Literature in the year 2006. (Award received from noted playwright and actor Girish karnad.

‘Yuva Puraskar’ in 2012 by Bharatiya Bhasha Parishad for the book ‘Mayabi Libido’.

‘Krittibas Puraskar’ in 2014 for the book ‘Bidushak o Saudamini’.

‘Junior Fellowship in literature’ by Ministry of Culture in 2014.
