First lets go with the minimum required configuration on which you can install software and work( with little patience) . On Core 2 4 GB Ram- You can install AutoCAD 2015(will work fine , Later versions are going to be insanely slow) Catia V5R21 ( Catia V6 will be slow for big parts and even V5 also)...

First lets go with the minimum required configuration on which you can install software and work( with little patience) . On Core 2 4 GB Ram- You can install AutoCAD 2015(will work fine , Later versions are going to be insanely slow) Catia V5R21 ( Catia V6 will be slow for big parts and even V5 also) and Solidworks 2013 (Higher versions again are going to be slow) If you are buying new system/laptop and budget is around 25, then you can go for i3 3rd Generation, 4 gb ram and 1 gb graphics card. If there is no commercial constraint, then go for minimum 8gb ram, 2 gb graphics card and processor (depending on your budget). read less

Any processor with 2 or more cores is sufficient for running these softwares. A GPU would be an added advantage.
