I have over a decade of teaching experience across undergraduate and postgraduate levels, having taught B.Sc., B.Tech, and M.Sc. students in NIT and other govt institutions in subjects related to biotechnology, bioenergy, environmental biotechnology, renewable energy systems, and applied microbiology, with a strong emphasis on linking core theoretical concepts to real-world applications and current research challenges. My teaching approach is student-centred and outcome-driven, combining structured lectures with problem-based learning, case studies, literature discussions, and hands-on laboratory demonstrations to help students develop conceptual clarity as well as practical competence. For B.Sc. and B.Tech cohorts, I focus on building strong fundamentals in microbial metabolism, anaerobic digestion, bioprocess engineering, and environmental systems, while progressively introducing concepts of sustainability, circular bioeconomy, and industrial relevance through examples drawn from operational biogas plants, waste-to-energy projects, and pilot-scale research studies. At the M.Sc. level, I engage students more deeply with advanced topics such as reactor design and optimisation, biomethanation pathways, microbial consortia dynamics, process monitoring, data interpretation, and research methodology, encouraging critical analysis of recent peer-reviewed literature and independent thinking through seminars, mini-projects, and proposal writing exercises. I regularly integrate interdisciplinary perspectives, connecting biotechnology with energy policy, climate change mitigation, and sustainability frameworks, to prepare students for careers in research, industry, and policy environments. My teaching is complemented by active mentoring of student research projects, dissertations, and internships, where I guide students in experimental planning, data analysis, scientific writing, and presentation skills, with several mentees progressing to higher studies or research roles in bioenergy and environmental biotechnology. I continuously update course content to reflect emerging advances in anaerobic digestion, biogas upgrading, and carbon management technologies, and I actively use blended learning tools, including digital resources, interactive discussions, and formative assessments, to enhance engagement and learning outcomes across diverse student backgrounds.
