I scored 99.99 percentile on CAT math (for IIMs). I have trained hundreds of students in Math for various tests in the last twelve years. I make my own tailor-made math problems to expose students to tasks that are just beyond their current abilities so that the students are stretched, but not overwhelmed. Any aid that I would offer would be limited to helping students make sense of the problems and encouraging the students to persist in solving the problems instead of showing all the steps.

In my sessions, theory for the topic would be preceded by simple practical questions relevant to the topic. Answering them with common sense enables a student to identify the topic as what it actually is rather than one of the headaches that he has to study. He would feel that math is not something to study but it is all about understanding the stuff he already knows! The second half will emphasize advanced level questions and learning conventional as well as my magical methods to solve them.

I am an MBA Finance guy and I worked as a Senior Financial Analyst at CSL Behring Ltd, Melbourne. I've got a pool of successful students because I teach them math with practical examples and make them learn to use common sense.
