Meet Rashmi M, an inspiring BA Tutor from Chandigarh - UrbanPro
Rashmi started her journey in the teaching field inspired by one of her professors (who was also her Mentor) to teach, seeing her potential to express concepts well. She was a brilliant student in college and excelled in all the subjects. For a period of five years, she was teaching in a vocational training institute, little did she knew that her entire world would change after she met with a fatal car accident. After the accident, she had to stay at home to recover from her injuries. And it was during those times that she came across UrbanPro.com, when she was looking for work from home opportunities. She instantly registered with UrbanPro and became a Tutor, and started teaching college students, IELTS aspirants and Spoken English to students. Within a short period of just 1 and 1/2 year, she created a niche for herself in BA Tuition category. She helped her students excel and achieve their academic goals. In 2015, she also won UrbanPro Excellence Award for BA Tuition category.

Q1. When and how you started as a BA Tutor?
Ans. I opted to study English Literature both for my Bachelor’s as well as Master’s degree with a keen interest in these subjects from the very beginning. Teaching as a profession happened to me on the encouragement from one of my Senior Professors who taught me at college. It was that lady whom I look up to as a Mentor, who made me realize that I was blessed with the skill to verbally express myself with great clarity and precision. I also had a good command over the subjects which I had studied in college. Moreover, coming from a family of academicians, I always felt it to be my duty to share the knowledge which I had gained during all those years of study with enthusiastic learners who aspire to study the same subjects. It seemed to be a decent way to earn a living and at the same time help others to grow academically.
Q2. What skills are required to become a BA Tutor?
Ans. In my opinion being a teacher requires tremendous patience, sound knowledge of the subjects one teaches or plans to teach, the ability to never stop learning and being receptive to both suggestions and criticism as this only helps a teacher to work with a more dedicated approach in order to do his or her best in the interests of their students.
Q3. What do you think makes you stand out from other BA Tutors on UrbanPro.com?
Ans. I think every teacher possesses a personal style of professional teaching which aids them to connect with and relate to students in a specific manner. The distinguishing factor in my case would be my passion for the subjects English, Psychology and Sociology which I teach, it is this passion that makes me go the extra length to add a little more research into my work and this benefits my students by providing them with a superior level of academic information, which in turn enhances their performance in exams and future careers.
Q4. How you came across UrbanPro.com?
Ans. Post a near fatal car accident that left me severely injured I had to quit my job of five years as the period of recovery had been determined by doctors as being uncertain. However, divine intervention prevailed and by god’s grace I recovered in a little less than a year. It was then that sitting at home and not having much to do was taking its toll on me. As I browsed on the internet searching for work from home opportunities, I came across UrbanPro.com. It dawned on me that I could register with the site and start working as a teacher once again in the comfort of familiar surroundings and with great flexibility of timings.
Q5. What was the turning point in your career?
Ans. In the past year and a half that I have been associated with UrbanPro.com, I have understood that there is no better platform than this site which helps professionals from different fields by promoting them in such a brilliant way and providing excellent work opportunities to each one. The prominent turning point in my career has been the recognition which I have achieved through UrbanPro. Earlier this year, in the form of the excellence award for being the best B.A. Tutor in my city and I feel deeply thankful to everyone at UrbanPro for this.
Q6. How UrbanPro.com platform helped you to expand your BA Tuition Classes?
Ans. The site has a commendably organized and fair approach towards promoting each professional registered with them. I particularly appreciate the platform where customers are given the liberty to give a written feedback for the quality of services which they receive. This has aided me immensely in expanding my classes as that feedback has acted as the deciding factor for students to choose me over other professionals. At regular intervals, the management at UrbanPro makes it a point to provide valuable inputs which go a long way in helping us improve our working style.
Q7. What percentage of your work comes from UrbanPro?
Ans. Around 90% of students whom I teach connect with me through UrbanPro.com, which means that most of the people who have come to know about me and the service I provide have found me via UrbanPro. I would like to mention here that every employee in the administration, management and customer relations at UrbanPro deserves praise for their sincerity and efforts they put into making it easier for professionals registered with them to receive maximum benefits.
