Even though the role of DJs are to play music, there are different types of DJs that exists. For example, Club DJs play songs at restaurants, night clubs and other venues, Party DJs rocks a party or an event with great music, Radio DJs plays music for people who listen on the radio and the Wedding DJ who plays music that befits the traditional occasion.
DJs are very creative individuals who have great taste in music. They select songs that set the mood of the audience right. Their music choices make the people lost in the mood of the songs. The role of DJs look simple, changing from one track to another. However, it is not tad easy and simple, they don’t just need to change track they also need to keep the audience engaged.

Being a DJ has to do a lot more than just playing tracks, you should be able to structure a set, mix music in a matter of seconds, and keep your audience on the toes, when you are doing all these stuffs. Once you are a little experienced, you can add mics, plug-ins, audio interface, monitor and lot more. You at least need the following to become a DJ:
- CD players
- Headphones
- Mixing software
- Speakers
- Two-channel mixer
