Here is an excerpt from the interview with Arun Kottalgi K:
Q1. When and how you started as a Soft Skills Trainer?
Ans. I started my journey as an independent soft skills trainer a little over two years ago, after quitting my highly rewarding job. Training had been my passion from the time I was doing my MBA. I involved myself in a lot of training both as a trainer and a trainee in my corporate experience of over eight years. With rich experience in managing businesses and teams, I thought time had come to start the entrepreneurial journey in the field of training. I could not think of any other subject but soft skills which helped me grow in my corporate life. I call these skills as life skills which most of the students are not trained on in their graduation or post graduation courses.
Q2. What skills are required to become a Soft Skills Trainer?
Ans. The most important skill required for any trainer, especially for a soft skills trainer is the ability to connect with the audience. It’s not the content which matters most but the quality of delivery and the ability to connect. This helps participants implement the skills learned in their own life, which is the ultimate goal of any training program.
Q3. What do you think makes you stand out from other Soft Skills Trainers on UrbanPro.com?
Ans. My ability to understand the needs of the participants and adjust my style of training depending on the situation is one of my biggest strengths. I connect with people of every age group. I have trained high school students, graduate/postgraduate students and also professionals with more than 20 years of experience. My trainings are always experiential learning sessions with focus on implementation of the learning. I offer online courses through Arun’s Academy website, offline offerings include workshops, seminars, placement trainings and one on one coaching as well. Above strengths makes me stand out from other soft skills trainers on UrbanPro.com.
Q4. How you came across UrbanPro.com?
Ans. I was searching about trainers on the internet when I came across UrbanPro. The ease with which the platform links potential learners with trainers is amazing.

Q5. What was the turning point in your career?
Ans. For me every day is a new beginning which gives great opportunities to learn and grow, but one incident which I can remember clearly as a turning point is when a corporate client called me after checking my profile on UrbanPro.
Q6. How UrbanPro.com platform helped you to expand your Soft Skills Training Classes?
Ans. UrbanPro has clearly increased my visibility to my potential clients. It has also helped me put my credentials and thoughts in a well designed profile page which has options to upload videos, photos, lessons and much more.
Q7. What percentage of your work comes from UrbanPro?
Ans. More than 50% of my training enquiries come from UrbanPro. Thank you for creating such a nice website and hope to have a long-lasting relationship with this wonderful platform.
