About the Masterclass
This class is for students who are preparing for engineering entrance exams. Limits is foundational chapter for the entirety of calculus at JEE level. It is the cornerstone of differential and integral calculus.
In this mastereclass, we explore the concept of limit and how it is defined for sequences and functions. We learn about operations between limits.
We start with what a limit is. We define it for a sequence. We then proceed to understand how to prove when a limit does not exist for a sequence. We then consider extending the concept of a limit to that of a function. We will then have furnished a nice condition to verify whether a function has limit at a point or not.
Then we proceed with algebra of limits. Addition, subtraction, multiplication and quotient of limits. We will then proceed to explain sandwich theorem. We then explore calculation of limit by use of equivalent functions and we learn what the indeterminate forms are.
