As you practice and acquire more skills you can upgrade your lenses. If you are using Canon and have very limited budget then i would suggest 55-250mm lens and you can practice with larger birds which are slower in flight and movement. later you can acquire canon 400mm f5.6 which is ideal for flight shots.
