"I am a working professional, and attended a few training sessions with others as well before joining Mr. Akhtar. One of my office colleague was neither good in email writing nor in business communication. We both were doing WFH hence couldn't get to interact with each other but finally when we started working from the office I was surprised to see the outstanding changes in his English communication and email writing. "In my past, I used to be very afraid of English subject. I was not able to frame proper sentences and was very poor in Grammar and Writing Discourses. Before the training given by Akthar Sir, I was not able to understand the English which was spoken by the American people or any other foreigners and also I was not able to write a proper story of a paragraph by my own imagination. After the training given by Akthar Sir, I became topper in English Subject and expert in Grammar. Yes, at some extent it is necessary as the Phonics instruction educates readers how to translate letters into their individual sounds, an ability that's basic for them to examined new words by themselves.
As example there might be words which is neither heard or read before and there we can take help of phonics to decode the word and say perfectly even it appears first time infront of our eyes.

Therefore, you pronounce c-a-t- in a way that agrees with the sounds represented by the letters -c-a-t.
