Yes- IF function can be used with both VLOOKUP and HLOOKUP. An example for VLOOKUP with IF: =IF(VLOOKUP(D1,$F$2:$G$10,2,FALSE)=0,"No","Yes") The above statement compares Vlookup's result with zero, and returns "No" if it is equal to 0, "Yes" otherwise.

Power pivot can handle more data than the excel worksheets that is more than millions of rows of data. But the exact number of records also depends on your system configuration. If the memory on your system is not sufficient, it will limit the number of records that can be processed.

Some of the formulas like VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP are very useful but often underutilized. VLOOKUP is used to lookup values in a table vertically whereas HLOOKUP searches for values horizontally.
