Overview

Tai chi chuan literally means "Supreme ultimate fist" or "Cotton fist". Originally from China, Tai Chi a slow, moving, meditative exercise, designed for relaxation, balance and good health. Hidden in the graceful, slow movements, are also the priciple of self defense. The underlying belief of this soft form of martial art, is that everything in the universe depends on the interplay and interaction of polar opposites of Yin the passive and Yang the active principle. Its all about balance and harmony between these two vital energies. I am providing Tai Chi and Qigong classes.

It is also helping me deepen my yoga practice. And Cicily is a great teacher - patient and meticulous. enjoying my twice - weekly chi kung classes."

""I was only 30 years old when I needed to have my left hip replaced with implants. I had resigned myself to living life with limited muscular flexibility and movement, thinking something as simple as sitting cross-legged was no more a possibility. Today, after a couple of years of Tai Chi, I am able to do more than that. The repetitive slow movements mimic modern-day physiotherapy, but this ancient art form combines rehabilitation with strength, balance and grace. I never thought I would be able stand on my left leg, let alone kick with my right at the same time! And more than just enhanced physical abilities, quietude, improved concentration and quicker reflexes have made me a happier and more confident person. I?m glad to have learnt something so simple yet powerful that will keep me going even when I'm 70. Thank you Tai Chi and thank you especially Cicily for bearing with me so patiently.""

"I have been practising Tai Chi for the last 4 years.I loved the slow, graceful movements where each posture flows into the next without a pause. I work as a holistic therapist and do similar movements during the therapies ? it also helps me to concentrate and be flexible."
