His initial training in Carnatic music was from his Guru late Shri Swaminathan Master of West Mambalam, Chennai and subsequently pursued his learning from Shri Kuthanur Mohanakrishna in Abu Dhabi. He holds a diploma in Indian classical music from the Government of Tamil Nadu. He taught Carnatic music to aspiring students for over 25 years in Abu Dhabi and had presented several classical and light music programmes there. Also performed as a lead vocalist for several Bharatnatyam arangetrams in Abu Dhabi. Currently based in Thrissur, Kerala. Fluent in English, Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi. Regarding academics, he is an MBA holder.
