Dr. Indrani S.

I am a Research Scholar in University of North Bengal. I have completed Ph.D. in Botany with Bioinformatics as major in the year 2019. I have experience in Biology teaching. I served the post of visiting faculty in Department of Food Technology, University of North Bengal. I am passionate about teaching. I focus on understanding the basics of any subject first and then build on it. This theory not only helped me in my studies but also during my research life. Till now I have published more than 20 research articles all in reputed peer reviewed International Journals with cumulative impact of 63 (Thomson Reuters). I have received prestigious 'Basic Science Reward' from UGC as both Junior Research Fellow and Senior Research Fellow. Later, I worked in Salim Ali Centre for Ornithology and Natural History, Coimbatore under a project funded by Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Govt. of India. I worked there on the Mitochondrial genome based strategy for conserving Avian species. One of such works brought me prestigious 'Research Excellence Award' from InSc, India. Now I work as a Research Associate and also teach the M.Sc students Bioinformatics and Biotechnology.
